Introduction

One of the reasons that motivated me to write some autobiographical material was that after much encouragement from my mother, Dad finally wrote his personal history - which in length consisted of part of one page. I was always sorry that we don't have more of his life experience documented. From a part of one page, however, I appreciated his writing that "after more than forty years of married life, she (Goldie) is the most wonderful woman I have ever met." That statement is usually valuable to me.
Unfortunately, we don't have more detail about how they met, married and gave birth to the five of us. Through their joint efforts and hard work, they built up a relatively large estate in comparison with others in the county even through the Great Depression.
One reason I want to leave more of a personal history record is to share more with our posterity than that which we received from my Dad. We are grateful for the 12 pages my Mom, Goldie, wrote.
I hope that in sharing some of the following autobiographical material there will be some encouragement to our children and grandchildren to do the same.
